Anna University allots the last 3 numbers, depends upon the type of student admitted. If the student is studying all 4 years, then he/she comes under regular student category. If the student is admitted under lateral entry, he/she comes under lateral entry student category. If the student studied first year in any Anna University Affiliated College and got transferred to another Anna University Affiliated College, then the student comes under transferred student category. Depending upon the type of admission, the last 3 digits vary accordingly as follows:
For regular student, the last 3 digits starts from 001 to 1** sorted by Alphabetical Order (A to Z)
For lateral entry Student, the last 3 digits ranges from 301 to 3** sorted by Alphabetical Order.
For transferred Students, the last 3 digit ranges from 701 to 7** sorted by Alphabetical Order.
